Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone is a household name. His son, Giovanni, probably isn’t yet, but the Genoa striker is being linked with a potential summer move to Watford, reports the Watford Observer.

Having enjoyed an impressive first season in Serie A at Genoa, a club he joined from Argentine club River Plate, the striker managed 13 goals in his 36 appearances, a return made all the more impressive considering his side struggled, finishing in 16th in the Italian topflight.

If his old man made a move for the forward Watford could be in trouble, fortunately former Argentina international Diego doesn’t plan on working with his son at club level anytime soon, admitting as much according to the Observer report.

Then again Watford aren’t the only side expressing an interest in Simeone, 21, as AC Milan and Fiorentina are also seen as potential destinations for the seemingly in demand goalscorer.

One we’ll not see at Vicarage Road next season, despite reports claiming otherwise on Wednesday, is former Watford boss Walter Mazzarri. Rumours of him being installed at Crystal Palace are wide of the mark as he’s not being considered for the vacancy, according to the Croydon Advertiser.
