A selection of our favourite tweets following this afternoon’s 1-0 victory over Peterborough United

A 90th minute Matej Vydra penalty secured a richly-deserved three points for Gianfranco Zola’s Hornets, who failed to hit the target with any of their 16 attempts – according the BBC at least.

A drab first-half saw Tommy Rowe loop a header onto the roof of the net for Posh, whilst Daniel Pudil hit the crossbar.

The second-half was a much more lively affair in front of a packed Vic’, as Fernando Forestieri and Nathaniel Chalobah stole the show, both man denied on numerous occasions by the woodwork, last-ditch defending and Posh ‘keeper, Robert Olejnik.

However, in the 90th minute, Pudil was brought down needlessly by Kane Ferdinand, presenting substitute Vydra with the chance to win it from the spot.

In front of the Rookery the Czech Republic cap stepped up to secure just the second three-point haul in WD18 this season.

Here are a selection of tweets from our (@VitalWatford) fine followers. If you like the cut of their jib, make sure you give them a follow!

@watfordburton ‘Forestieri so important, WFC beginning to improve, unsure on ‘family days’, he’s only 5 foot 3, GIANFRANCO!’

@PatMcNicholas ‘Scrappy. More Watford-sided than evenly-sided I’d say, but a win is a win. Bring on Sellout City FC midweek!’

@LuxWFC ‘First half stalemate, game opened up and we should’ve scored 3 or 4. Blackburn will punish not taking chances.’

@NLFG ‘Deserved, but made hard work of that #watfordfc’

‏@johnsitkowski ‘Thought back 3 of Hall, Doyley and Hoban were immense today.’

@HughesJosh10 ‘Heart attack-esque second half. Deserved the win though. Fairly solid performance. #COYH’

@AndyLewers ‘I still hate family days.’

‏@sam_shaw22 ‘I went so mental I almost fell over the chair in front of me, bring on Cardiff!’
