Both Watford and Queens Park Ranger’s suffered defeats at the weekend to North East clubs and will be looking to get back to winning ways at one another’s expense on Monday.

We have the good people at Sky to thank for a Monday night game and just one day for the respective players to recover from Saturday.

The Hornet’s were decent value despite coming unstuck at Newcastle whilst QPR were very uninspiring in their 5-1 thumping at home to Gordon Strachan’s Middlesborough.

Hoops goalscorer Patrick Agyemang scored with his first touch of that game and his introduction alongside former Scummer, Rowan Vine was key to QPR’s mild improvement. Magilton has great strength up top with loanee Jay Simpson in good form having arrived on loan from Arsenal. Simpson spent time on loan at West Brom last season and impressed their as the Baggies were relegated.

Another impressive North London loanee comes in the shape of winger Adel Taraabt. Lee Hodson and Lloyd Doyley are in for a torrid evening if the Moroccon international shows up at the Vic’, four strikes in 14 league games testament to his danger.

Jim Magilton’s men will be without defender Matthew Connolly and another loanee in Blackburn’s Steven Reid. Gary Borrowdale should keep his place at left back ahead of former Arsenal young’un Connolly whilst Ben Watson and Alejandro Faurlin will compete with forme Orn Gavin Mahon for a midfield berth.

Watford are without Heidar Helguson on loan from the Loftus Road side, the Icelander ineligable to play against his parent club. Either Will Hoskins or Nathan Ellington likely to replace him.
