FOLLOWING defeat in the Midlands on Saturday Watford will lick their wounds and back South to take on Neil Warnock’s Queens Park Rangers outfit.

In spite of a recent slip in the form the R’s secured their Championship status for the season but will have much grander designs aiming towards promotion next season though.

Vital Quotes:

Queens Park Rangers Team News:

Neil Warnock has suggested he will go with a more youthful look, the likes of Antonio German, Josh Parker and Angelo Balanta could all feature.

Centre-halve Damion Stewart is out thanks to the fractured skull he picked up at Palace whilst Matt Connolly is sidelined due to an ankle problem. Ex-Toon defender Peter Ramage looks set to start at the back.

Former Hornet Gavin Mahon, and skipper Martin Rowlands both miss out with long-term knee problems.

Likely Line-up:
Cerny
Leigertwood (c) Ramage Gorkss Tosic
Ephraim Buszaky Faurlin Taarabt
Priskin Simpson

Player to watch: Adel Taarabt:

A Moroccan international on loan from Tottenham Hotspur, Taarabt is currently enjoying his second loan spell at Loftus Road.

A bag of tricks, the diminutive midfielder can play almost anywhere across the middle or behind the frontman.

Watford Team News:

With Will Buckley and Lloyd Doyley both hamstrung, it seems likely Watford will name the same eleven that lost at Leicester City other than Jay DeMerit who looks set to be replaced by Martin Taylor following a second-half injury.

Likely Line-up:
Loach
Mariappa Taylor Bennett Hodson
Cowie Jenkins Eustace (c) Harley
Lansbury
Graham

Player to watch: John Eustace:

The tenacious former Stoke City midfielder is currently on top of his form as he fights tooth and nail for an extended contract at the Vic’ this Summer.

Strong in the tackle and many people’s preference as captain, especially if Jay DeMerit leaves, Eustace provides the grit in an otherwise smooth midfield.

Match Facts & Stats

Jay Simpson – 33 +3 (13)
Tom Cleverley – 33 +0 (11)

Ref Watch:

Referee: Mr P Miller
Assistants: Mr J Farries and Mr K Yeo

Match Prediction:

A score draw. Though Watford need the points I think QPR are stronger in strength and depth but in spite end-of-season sydrome means the Hornet’s will fail to end their away day blues.

Next Fixtures:

Reading (H) 24th April
Coventry (A) 2nd May
