Defender Sebastian Prodl has said that all of Arsenal’s goals at the weekend at the Emirates Stadium came at the perfect time for the hosts.

Making the trip and suffering a four nil defeat, with head coach Quique Sanchez Flores admitting Watford were easily second best on the day and not competitive enough, in his own after game interview Prodl pointed out that Arsenal’s goals on the day came at the perfect time to take the wind out of our sails as he felt just as we were coming into the match again and growing, they added another to deflate us.

Speaking to the Official Site following the full time whistle, he explained that clearly we weren’t at our best, but a lot of that was to do with Arsenal.

‘It was very disappointing. The result was well-deserved for Arsenal and they scored at perfect times in the first and second-half. It was very difficult for us to have a great start. Obviously Arsenal have got some good players with good skill and technique and they kept the ball well. We didn`t really get a chance to show what was expected of us. When Arsenal score in the beginning they have the confidence to keep the ball. A lot of teams struggle to play here at the Emirates. We did much better three weeks ago when we won in the FA Cup. Today was very difficult because they were angry about the result a few weeks ago, and they still have a chance to win the title. It was a difficult mix for us. They had a great game and we had a poor performance.’

The Austrian went on to say that despite that, Watford need to be better and handle knocks better in the future, but part of that will be in not dwelling on the heavy defeat and instead preparing properly for Everton next weekend.

‘I don`t think Arsenal are the team we should look at in terms of us in the Premier League. We have to get back into shape as soon as possible and get back to the performances we can. We are ready to go and we want to get to 40 points as quickly as possible. We need to forget this game as soon as possible. Of course we need to analyse today`s mistakes, but we also have to keep taking a look at the table. We can have a lot of confidence with 37 points as a promoted team. We can get back on track again now with a different performance against Everton.’
