After the trouncing up at West Brom, Watford will look to get their form back on track against Alan Irvine’s Preston outfit. The Lilywhites has been going well with only win one in their last six.

Vital Quotes:

Gaffer Malky Mackay:
“This group are nothing but hard workers and they have been good in training.

“They were disappointed on Saturday and they want to put it right.

“They have worked hard all week and they will be up for it and raring to go.”

Jon Harley on his 1st Team run:
“I have been in situations where I have not been happy and felt I should be playing and it can sometimes be mentally hard to come into a game for two or three minutes.

“You have to try and make a point of fighting for your place and not get worked up and whether you are put on for ten to 15 minutes or three minutes, it has been important that I used that time to stake my claim.

“It doesn`t matter what position you play, you want to make that spot yours but you cannot take anything for granted. If the manager wants to change it then I will make sure I am ready and if I get three or four minutes, I will play to the best of my abilities.”

Watford Team News:

Watford look to welcome back Heidar Helguson who may well make his first start back in a Watford shirt alongside Golden Danny Graham. If not, Henri Lansbury is likely to tuck in behind Graham.

Ross Jenkins is definitly out after having a back operation whilst Jay DeMerit is back in ‘light’ running following eye surgery. Richard Lee won’t be on the bench despite also returning to light training, so youngster Jonathan Bond should fill that spot on the bench.

Likely Lineup
Loach
Hodson Mariappa (c) Cathcart Doyley
Lansbury Cowie Eustace Harley
Helguson
Graham

Player to watch: Danny Graham:

Golden Graham has now gone six games without a goal, his worst run of the season despite having plenty of chances. The powerful striker will no doubt be short odds to notch if the Hornet’s do.

Preston North End Team News:

Skipper Callum Davidson should be welcomed back into the PNE lineup after an extended absence was aggravated by a hamstring problem picked up on international duty.

Fellow Scot Barry Nicholson is definitly out with a broken leg but Richard Chaplowh as shaken off a knock which picked up in his sides 1-1 draw with Crystal Palace.

Likely Lineup
Lonergan (c)
Jones Chilvers Nolan Collins
Parry Chaplow Cartet Wallace
Mellor Brown

Player to watch: Ross Wallace:

The former Sunderland and Celtic winger has been a revelation down the left-hand side of the PNE lineup since arriving on loan last season. Since then the 24 year has signed permanently and scored a sublime free-kick against Palace last week. The Hornet’s will have to stop his cultured left foot if they are to get anything from this game.

Match Prediction:

Can’t see this one being a draw, an entertaining game with goals and a slim win for one or the other.

Next up for the ‘Orns:

After next weeks international break, it’s all back to the Vic’ for the visit of Scunthorpe on November 21st.
