45% of VitalWatford visitors reckon there`s more chance of Luton Down avoiding the drop to Blue Square footballing obscurity than Watford making the play-offs but Richard Lee is still a believer.

Despite the Hornets being 14 points off 6th spot – even before facing up to a back-to-back trio of testing away games at Cardiff, Ipswich and Donny – the Watford stopper insists being in the play-off mix come May is still on.

Ok, so Watford are the Championship`s in form side taking 16 points from a possible 21 in the last 7 games but the battle to beat the drop is far from over – let alone looking higher up the league for something to play for.

Speaking through his weekly blog at, the Hornets second choice stopper (presumably with tongue firmly in cheek) stated “We realise that if we were to get a couple of positive results then the idea of making the Play-Offs wouldn`t be completely unrealistic”.

In truth, despite renewed confidence under Brendan Rodgers, the VitalWatford boys really don`t fancy the Hornets to get much more than a point out of the next 2 trips to Ninian Park and Portman Road – but hey, that doesn`t stop us loving Lee`s ambition.

He added “We would probably need to win 8 of our last 9 games but stranger things have happened!”

Stranger things have happened Richard, we just suspect they won`t this time, that`s all!
