Blackburn Rovers striker, Rudy Gestede, is on the verge of signing for Watford in a £5m move, according to the Daily Mail.

The twenty six year old who has netted twenty goals in the Championship for Rovers this season, has been linked with Premier League side throughout the year, and is apparently looking likely to move to the Hornets as they look to bolster their squad for next season’s campaign in the top flight.

Standing at 6ft 4, Gestede is well known for scoring goals with his head, and that’s where the vast majority of his goals have come from this season.

Gestede signed for Gary Bowyer’s side in January 2014, after making a loan spell from Cardiff City a permanent move.

On average, Gestede has netted a league goal in every two games for Blackburn, with him netting thirty-three in sixty-six Championship games.

The Benin international was born in France, and his career started off at Metz, where he made twenty-seven appearaces for their ‘B’ team in the space of five years, scoring three goals, and had a very similar record in the first team.

Gestede then moved over to the UK, to sign for Cardiff City in the summer of 2011, making sixty-three appearances and scoring nine goals before moving to Lancashire.
