Twenty-three year-old Romanian midfielder Rok Straus is currently trying to impress the Hornet’s coaching staff during a week long trial at the Vic’ from SK Celje.

The same SK Celje that gave us the talent’s of left-back Jure Travner no less!

Straus began his career as a youth team player with Italian giants Inter Milan before touring the lower Italian leagues with Messina, Rieti, Brescia and Salernitana.

Speaking to Nogomania Straus confirmed the trial arrangement:

‘It is true, I’m in England at the moment.

I’m on trial at Watford. I have been here since Monday and today (Tuesday) I finished my first training session with the team.

‘My first impressions are very good, it is clear that Watford is a big, well organised club.

‘Watford and Celje agreed for me to come on trial. I came to England because I’m sure I can improve as a player.

‘I hope for the best, but I know a transfer is still a long way off. But I will try my best to convince Watford.’
