We speak to a Swansea fan ahead of tomorrow’s clash

Prior to the clash between the Hornets and the Swans at Vicarage Road tomorrow, we ask Swansea fan Steven a few questions about Swansea’s fortunes this season and what he is expecting from Watford.

VW: Swansea haven’t had a bad start to the season, obviously grabbing a victory against Manchester United in their last encounter, do you think that the Swans can keep this form up for a majority of the campaign?

Steven: I think we can build on the good start we’ve made. We’ve got a good squad now with real competition for places in all positions so I’m hopeful of another good year at the Liberty.

VW: What are your hopes for this season?

Steven: From what I’ve seen so far we could get 6th in my opinion and that would be fantastic. Big ask of course but if we stay Injury free then we’ve got a chance. A cup run would be nice too.

VW: Your key man so far is no doubt Andre Ayew, how well do you think he has done to settle into the squad and become a real name on the fans’ lips?

Steven: It’s been a great start for him of course, a debut goal never did anyone any harm and he looks like a great signing so far. The key was signing him early in the window, that way he had time to settle before the first game and hopefully be continue to shine over the next few weeks and months.

VW: What do you think of your summer business overall?

Steven: We were quiet but we had a big overhaul last summer so there was no need to do a lot of business. Ayew was the main arrival, while we bought a left back, goalkeeper and striker all of whom will have to bide their time and wait for their opportunity in the first team.

VW: What type of game are you expecting against the Hornets?

Steven: I think it should be an entertaining one, you guys will be looking for your first win and will probably target Saturday as a game where you can get it. Swansea on the other hand will probably also come for the points so there should be goals in this one.

VW: Also, who do you think will be their man to watch?

Steven: Troy Deeney is a player who has do very well and been linked with us in the past. I know he hasn’t scored yet but it’ll come, just hopefully not this weekend!

VW: Thanks for your contribution, Steven, safe trip to you and the rest of the Swansea faithful heading to the game.
