Vital Doncaster Rovers Editor, ‘Daz71` helps up preview Tuesday`s clash against Rovers at Vicarage Road?

What were Doncaster’s hopes, fears & expectations for the season?

It was quite difficult before the season. There was a reported investment supposed to be happening, one that would have seen the club bringing in a host of players. Unfortunately, this hasn`t materialised yet.

Before the season kicked off, I think most Doncaster fans would have been happy with a fourth from bottom finish. It hasn`t been a bad start but a few injuries in key areas will leave Doncaster short.

What is the feeling about the appointment of Paul Dickov as manager?

I think most Doncaster fans were disappointed when he was appointed the new manager.

He had only had one previous appointment at Oldham where he hadn`t exactly set the world alight. He isn`t doing too badly so far, better than I was expecting.

How has former Hornet Theo Robinson done for you so far?

He has started well with two goals in his first four games. Not sure he will be consistent enough though to score the goals this season.

Who will be your key man on Tuesday?

Richie Wellens – He pulls the strings in midfield allowing the more creative players like James Coppinger and David Cotterill to help out in attack.

One player you’d trade for a Watford player; who & why?

It would be like for like. I think Rovers still need a striker and I would swap Troy Deeney for Billy Paynter. Obviously, there is no chance of this ever happening!

Any injuries or suspensions?

Jamie McCombe is out until the New Year with a back injury. Marc De Val Fernandez is not far away from a return after suffering a knee injury in pre-season.

How will you line up?

4-4-2 Two big lads will hold the centre of defence in Rob Jones and Tottenham`s Bongani Khumalo. Full-backs Reece Wabara and James Husband will both help out in attack.

Paul Keegan will do the donkey work in midfield – sometimes his hard work goes unnoticed.

Richie Wellens will be the link up man allowing James Coppinger and David Cotterill to support Chris Brown and Theo Robinson in attack.

Prediction?

Rovers play better away from home. I can see them battling to a point in a 1-1 draw.

Cheers, Daz. Make sure to check Vital Doncaster prior to the game to see how I answered Daz`s questions.
