What with all the hullabaloo about the performance of the ref at Plymouth as well as the ‘Useless Rob` Styles show against Stoke, the last thing Watford needed right at this moment was to come face to face with yet another high profile, at times controversial, ref partial to his odd moment (or two) in the media spotlight?.

Then the oh so kind folk at the Football League appointed Uriah Rennie for the Hull v Watford clash at the KC Stadium.

The Sheffield based official will take charge of his first Hornets clash this season (his last being the late late Kalou show in the 1-0 home defeat to Chelsea 12 months ago) but he will at least bring bagfuls of big match experience to the promotion 6-pointer!

This season he`s already overseen 6 Premier League clashes – including Man City-Liverpool and Roy Keane`s first match against Man Utd – the red hot Lancashire derby between Preston and Burnley, West Brom v Plymouth, the temperamental affair that was Bristol City v Cardiff and er, Chester v Accrington Stanley? and still managed to keep his card count down to a 10 year low – flashing only 6 red and 51 yellows all season.

So all things considered, it could have been a lot worse.
