Sunderland centre-half Nyron Nosworthy has penned an emergency loan deal until January.

Thirty-one year-old Nosworthy spent last season on-loan at Sheffield United as the Blades were relegated to League One.

The former Gillingham centre-half has been frozen out at the Stadium of Light with his last appearance for the Black Cats coming 21 months ago.

Speaking to The Official Site, Nosworthy said of his move:

‘There’s nothing like playing first-team football.

‘The gaffer has spoken to me and given me the opportunity to come in and play some games and help the team climb the table.

‘I jumped at the jump to come down to Watford and play some games, also being from London it was a no-brainer from my point of view.’

Nosorthy goes straight into the squad for tomorrow’s visit from Peterborough United.

The deal sees the Brixton-born centre-back-cum-right-back stay with the ‘Orns until January 8. Nosworthy will wear the number 33 shirt during his stay.

Welcome Nyron.
