David Mirfin, the first signing of the Sean Dyche reign, had today returned to Scunthorpe United on a free transfer after The mutual termination I his Watford contract.

The former Scunthorpe & Huddersfield Town defender joined Watford on a free transfer last summer on a two-year contract.

However, due to the form of Adrian Mariappa and latterly Martin Taylor and Nyron Nosworthy, the Yorkahireman made just five appearances as a GoldenBoy.

Mirin spent the second-half of last season back on-loan at Glandford Park, making 19 appearances. Iron boss Alan Knill was keen to bring Mirfin back this summer and with Fitz Hall signed yesterday, Gianfranco Zola was able to move the centre-back on.

Good luck David!
