Highly-rated young forward Bernard Mensah has signed an extended contract until June 2016.

The 18 year-old second-year scholar’s previous deal had been due to expire in the summer of 2014.

Mensah has now committed himself to the Hornets for an additional two years.

Like a number of his peers, Mensah signed a development contract to secure his immediate future with the club when he turned 17 and to ward off any potential suitors.

However, in-line with the Pozzo family’s desire to keep hold of young stars and following a blistering start to the academy season, Mensah has been rewarded with a longer deal.
