Watford have further bolstered their defensive options with the permanent signing of Ikechi Anya and the signing of free agent, Reece Brown.

Anya, 25, has penned a three-year deal at Vicarage Road after a successful loan spell last season from Granada.

Brown, 21, joins on a two-year contract after being released by Manchester United at the end of last season.

Former Bradford City, Doncaster Rovers, Oldham Athletic, Coventry City and Ipswich Town loanee Brown had been training with Gianfranco Zola’s side throughout pre-season.

Brother of former Manchester United defender, Wes, Brown Jnr. has also played a part in each of Watford’s pre-season friendlies so far this summer.

Anya becomes the ninth player this summer to join from a Pozzo-owned club, leaving just Joel Ekstrand to sign of those who have been with the Hornets’ squad for the duration of their pre-season preparations.

The workaholic wing-back made himself a fixture on Zola’s teamsheet last term, making 29 Championship appearances after transforming himself from a winger to a wing-back.

Welcome back, Ikechi and welcome to Watford, Reece.
