Former Watford youth team captain Tommie Hoban has become the latest player to ink a new contract with the club, signing a brand-new five-year deal at Vicarage Road.

The 18 year-old, who made his first-team debut on the final day of the 2010/11 season, had been contracted until the end of June 2014.

Now though the London-born defender will remain under contract in WD18 until June 30 2017.

Speaking to watfordfc.com, Hoban revealed his delight at signing a new long-term deal:

‘I’m really happy about signing because I think this club is going places,’ enthused Hoban.

‘It shows that hard work does pay off, I think. I’m looking forward to getting going and pushing hard to get involved in the manager’s plans.’

‘I always set my goals as high as I possibly can, so I’m aiming to be in and around the first-team. To push on and be ready to play even more next year is vital for me this season,’ said Hoban.

Congratulations Tommie!
