Backup goalkeeper Rene Gilmartin has this evening joined League One side Yeovil Town on loan until January 3.

The giant goalkeeper has been out of the first-team picture since making his league debut for the club earlier this season.

Gilmartin played in a defeat to Southampton and victory over Millwall before Scott Loach regained his place. Other than those two league outings the Irish stopper has been on League and F.A Cup duty only.

Hornet’s boss Sean Dyche said that he hoped to moved the former Walsall man out on loan and League One strugglers Yeovil have provided that opportunity.

This does however beg the question – who will be our sub ‘keeper at Doncaster? Jonathan Bond is also out on loan leaving Jack Bonham as the next most senior ‘keeper at the club.

Good luck Rene.
