Watford have this afternoon bolstered their already substantial striking resources with the loan-signing of Alex Geijo from Udinese.

The 29 year-old Swiss-born forward becomes the sixth player to join the Hornets this summer from the Pozzo family’s other clubs.

The six foot striker had been expected at Vicarage Road since tweeting last weekend that he would be flying to London on Monday to complete his move to Vicarage Road.

Geijo spent the last two seasons on-loan in Spain with Granada, and arrives with some pedigree having struck 26 goals in 60 appearances for the Andalusian outfit.

Prior to his spell with Granada, Geijo scored 15 goals in 53 appearances for Levante between 2007 and 2009 as well as 20 in 71 for Xerez in the two previous years. Geneva-born Geijo also bagged 48 in 100 games during a four-year spell with Malaga ‘B’ between 2001 and 2005.

Welcome to Watford, Alex.
