Mario Suarez’s current loan club Valencia aren’t looking to take up an option to sign the former Fiorentina midfielder on a permanent basis so he’ll be coming back to Watford this summer.

The option the La Liga side held on signing him at the end of his season-long loan deal will not be taken up, according to the Hertfordshire Mercury. This report said Spanish media are saying Suarez has been informed there’s no future for him at Valencia, he’s not been involved since February.

Suarez, who signed a four and a half year contract at Watford when signed from Fiorentina in January 2016, will therefore report back to the Hornets at the end of the season, having previously been informed he was surplus to requirements under Walter Mazzarri.

With Mazzarri’s own position at Vicarage under threat could Suarez, 30, yet have a chance to prove he’s got a future at Watford? The midfielder has made 15 Premier League appearances – eight as a starter – during his half-season playing stint in England so far.
