If the online talk is true Etienne Capoue hasn’t suffered any serious knee damage so could even return before the end of the season?

Quique Sanchez Flores isn’t (as instrumental as the midfielder is to the club) likely to take any risks so you would think Capoue’s season is basically over now as there’s no need to take any undue chances with the Frenchman so why do so!

When Capoue left the field on a stretcher in our FA Cup semi-final defeat to Crystal Palace on Sunday everyone feared the worst! Losing the former Tottenham man clearly didn’t help our chances either.

Capoue had a prolonged period of treatment following a collision with Yannick Bolasie, he returned but was soon down again before leaving the field on a stretcher and walking (well hobbling) away from Wembley on crutches.

Having undergone a scan the news was positive (apparently) with no serious injury sustained.

But the mainstay in our squad this season, missing a small handful of squads, will be out for a couple of weeks at least with this likely to see Mario Suarez getting his chance, which he’s struggled for since his January arrival.
