Jobi McAnuff is the latest member of the Ex-Hornet brigade to have his say before this weekends clash with Reading.

The former Palace, West Ham and Wimbledon winger told the Reading Chronicle: ‘It would be nice to get a good reception from Watford fans but it doesn’t seem to happen to me much these days.’

It’s one of things you have to get to grips with. I’ve had a bit of stick off Crystal Palace fans the few times I’ve played against them but you just have to use it to spur you on.’

‘When you are getting a bit of stick as a player it definitely gets you going and raises your game. So if I am involved on Saturday and I get a bit hopefully I will use it in a positive way.’

Now personally, though I far from ever, ever, ever, rated McAnuff in a Watford shirt, and was in fact very pleased to ever get 500k for a player with less than a years contract, will probably neither boo nor clap him come Saturday.

He probably doesn’t deserve a clap, unlike Grzegorz Rasiak, but he didn’t leave in acrimonious circumstances, so I’ll politely ignore him, as if he wasn’t there. Which at 3pm on most Saturday’s he wasn’t!
