According to the Watford Observer and what they understand anyway. This report said Watford will look to bring in a new keeper in January as Walter Mazzarri is aiming to improve the quality of options available to him.

A source said the Italian was ‘concerned with the quality of keeper at his disposal.’

Heurelho Gomes is most definitely the man with the gloves at Vicarage Road with it added his position isn’t under threat. However, his age is of concern to the Watford boss though even if the 35-year-old is still very much his first choice.

The future of Costel Pantilimon isn’t so secure though with it claimed Mazzarri doesn’t have too much faith in the Romanian so the 29-year-old could be set for an exit in January by all accounts, should another club show interest.

Who will this keeper be? No names were mention but Watford are actively seeking someone to challenge Gomes with them eventually becoming his successor.
