Swansea gaffer Roberto Martinez has billed the clash with Watford tonight “as good as as the FA Cup Final” in order to get his Swans refocused back on the league.

The Spanish matador manager sees his side riding high in the Championship but is a tad concerned that thoughts of a potential quarter final clash with Man Utd will distract Swansea from their bread and butter business.

Martinez said “?we have to remember that the league is where we can achieve our long-term aims. Watford is a huge fixture for us – in terms of the goal of our football club, it`s as good as the FA Cup Final”.

He added “Watford are very dangerous – At this stage of the season every Championship point is going to be very expensive and they will make it very difficult for us”.

The Hornets home pitch at Vicarage Road has been battered by the recent wintery weather (and the egg chasing antics of Saracens) and might not be quite endearing to a Swans side who like to knock it about…

…a fact not lost on the likeable Swans boss, who stressed that ‘It’s one of the difficult places we have left on our fixture list and we need to be prepared.’
