It’s being reported that Watford are reasonably down the line on a deal for Manchester City player Seko Fofana.

Sky Italia are reporting that advanced talks are taking place for the French 21 year old midfielder, but it will be a convoluted Pozzo deal that sees him sign permanently for Watford before then heading immediately out for Udinese.

Since joining Manchester City back in 2013 from Lorient, I don’t believe he’s debuted for them, but he did take in 17 starts and eight substitute appearances with Fulham back in a season long loan in the 2014/15 campaign, and he spent last season out with French side Bastia on a similar deal, where he saw 25 starts and seven substitute appearances.

In each loan spell he’s scored once.

It’s further complicated because it’s suggested that the Pozzo’s see him long term at Udinese, and then subsequent coverage of this implies he’ll stay at Watford for a year (as opposed to the loan move).

I would imagine the coming week or so might give some clarity here.
