Having fended off any apparent interest from St James’ Park for the services of Malky Mackay, Burnley are the latest club to express interest in the Hornet’s gaffer.

It’s not the first time the Lancashire side have allegedly chased the services of the gaffer as they were apparently keen to appoint Mackay when Owen Coyle left in the middle of last season.

The man who replaced Owen Coyle, Brian Laws was ‘asked to resign’ from his position with the underachievers by chairman Barry Kilby this week.

The Claret’s sit 11th, a place behind the Hornet’s after a 2-0 home defeat by struggler’s Scunthorpe United.
