Watford head coach Marco Silva is being linked with a return for Liverpool winger Lazar Markovic this summer.

ESPN referenced a source that had told them yesterday that Liverpool were aware of Watford’s interest in the player but having paid Benfica £20million for him in the summer of 2014, they will be looking to recoup the majority of that fee.

Whilst there’s nothing concrete in terms of the story, Silva did take Markovic to Hull City in the second half of last season and the 23 year old was pretty impressive in his 13 starting appearances and one substitute showing. He also scored twice for them as they ultimately failed to make the drop.

His spell at Liverpool saw him take in 23 starting appearances with a further eleven showings from the bench, returning three goals but he did spent time out on loan with Fenerbahce and Sporting Lisbon with him failing to establish himself at Anfield.
