Henri Lansbury looks likely to join fellow loanee Tom Cleverley in comitting to the Hornet’s cause for the remainder for of the season.

The Enfield-born Arsenal youngster says he will seek the permission of boss Arsene Wengar to extend his loan at Vicarage Road until the end of the season with his current deal expiring in January.

‘I’m hoping to stay here. I’m enjoying the football down here. Watford are a strong side and they can play good football.

‘I’m hoping to sort something out, I’m going to speak to Arsene Wenger about it.’

According to The Sun though, the deal is dependent on Arsenal agreeing to pay a 50% cut of Lansbury’s wages for the remainder of the season. This agreement would see the Gunners pay £375 of his wages a week whilst the Hornet’s would put up the other £375!

Are we really that hard up?! The reliability of of the source must be questioned needless to say, but £375 p/week is certainly a bargain!
