Ben Foster will make a save in anger for the first time in 10 months tonight after he was named in Man Utd`s reserve team for the clash with Middlesborough.

Foster, who`s last competitive appearance was in Watford`s 1-1 draw with Newcastle back in May 2007, has been given the backing of Sir Alex Ferguson to complete his comeback from a cruciate ligament injury which has sidelined him since returning to Old Trafford in June.

The former Hornets goalkeeper had been scheduled to feature in the Red Devils 2-0 reserve team defeat to Liverpool last week but was withdrawn on the gaffer`s request at the last minute.

Foster notched up 73 impressive outings for Watford in 2 loan spells (some much busier than others) but is unlikely to be tested too much tonight at Northwich Victoria`s ground … Middlesborough haven`t managed to score in the last 5 reserve team games!

Brian McClair`s united reserve side also features former Hornets trainee Chris Eagles whilst Boro include wing wizard Adam Johnson in their second string squad for the clash?.

That Johnson boy would get much more action back out on loan at Watford you know!
