Malky Mackay has confirmed that midfielder Ross Jenkins will miss the Leicester clash tomorrow and the remainder of the season too.

Fellow midfielder Matty Whichelow also failed to travel to the East Midlands meaning Sean Murray, Adam Thompson and Gavin Massey are involved in the Hornet’s 18-man squad.

“Ross suffered ankle damage at Leeds and it is certainly going to see him out until at least the Preston game [on May 7], if not beyond. It is a big blow for us.” Mackay told The Watford Observer

Jenkins was taken off after 32 minutes of the 2-2 tie with Leeds a week ago and has not been involved since, creating an opening for either Piero Mingoia or Danny Drinkwater to fill the void.

The gaffer also confirmed Danny Graham did not pick up an injury from a strong Jacob Mellis tackle in the Barnsley game after the forward went down.

“At first glance I would say we have not got any fresh injuries from the Barnsley game. Danny took a heavy knock near the end but it is just a knock.’ Said Mackay.
