Watford gaffer Brendan Rodgers has been shortlisted for the February Championship Manager of the Month award after seeing his Hornets climb up the table with 3 wins out of 3 in the league.

The Hornets boss saw his side pick up all 9 league points on offer and keep clean sheets in the process but a 3-1 cup defeat to Chelsea might put pay to Rodgers running away with the prize.

You`d expect Sean O`Driscoll to be front runner for the monthly award after steering his Donny Rovers crew away from the relegation dogfight with 12 points from 15 but Bristol City`s Gary Johnson might have a thing or 2 to say about the outcome.

The Robins from Ashton Gate chalked up the most points in the month, amassing 13 in all – including an impressive 2-0 away win at Reading.

Elsewhere and Cov`s Chris Coleman has been dubbed as the ‘red hot favourite` for the award by the er, Coventry Telegraph (surprisingly) and appears to have arrived almost unnoticed up on the rails but 10 points, 3 league wins and victory in the FA Cup.

Coleman has already joked that he “wants nothing to do with it” given that the managers award is widely renouned as a kiss of death!

In truth, as always when it comes to the Championship, it really is up for grabs this month?.it`s just great to see Rodgers in the running.
