Watford are reportedly keeping a close eye on Glenavon teenage midfielder Sammy Stewart after taking him on trial, according to the Belfast Telegraph.

The Northern Irish U18 Schools FA combative defensive midfielder, who has a handful of Carnegie Irish Premier Leagues games under his belt, joined up with the Hornets Academy sides for the recent clash with Cardiff but failed to put in an appearance during the 2-2 draw.

Stewart, whose brother Tommy scored for the Northern Irish U21 side`s 2-1 Euro Championship defeat to Israel earlier this month, is included in the 19-man Irish squad for the upcoming U18 Centenary Shield tournament matches against the home nations.

It might just be worth checking the satellite TV schedule then to see him in action.
