Ikechi Anya scored his first Scotland goal to help Gordon Strachan`s side overcome Macedonia in World Cup 2014 qualification.

The diminutive winger – who only won his first cap for Scotland at the end of last week – marked his second cap with a goal just before the hour mark to hand Strachan`s men a morale-boosting win.

Anya, who was picked from the start, opened the scoring in the 59th minute, racing onto Barry Bannan`s pass before angling a low shot under the Macedonian ‘keeper.

The hosts levelled with six minutes to spare before a Shaun Maloney free-kick won the clash for the Scots.

In African World Cup qualification, Essaid Belkalem was an unused substitute for Algeria in their 1-0 win over Mali.

Later tonight, Lloyd Doyley`s Jamaica host Costa Rica.
