Marco Silva, who worked with Liverpool’s Lazar Markovic during his spell in charge of Hull last season, does hold an interest, which has recently been claimed, but a bid hasn’t been made for the former Benfica winger, reports the Watford Observer.

Due to the previous connection they had at the KCOM Stadium, an easy link to make with any player Silva took to Hull last season, Markovic was an obvious player of speculation claiming a Watford interest.

In this instance there is an interest in Markovic, 23, but not enough to begin the process of ‘formal negotiations’ over the transfer of the Serbian.

A sticking point to any deal could potentially be the Liverpool asking price? Reportedly looking to recoup the £20m on Markovic, a massive overpayment when taking him to Anfield in 2014, Watford wouldn’t match such demands.

However, the Observer went on to claim, via sources close to Liverpool, the Reds would accept an offer around £12m for the Serbian international, who has failed to make an impact on Merseyside.
