Watford could be without veteran defender Malky Mackay for Saturday’s FA Cup fifth-round tie against Ipswich at Vicarage Road.

Mackay is struggling with a calf injury and is rated no better than 50-50 to recover in time for the meeting with the Championship side.

Watford will also be without the cup-tied trio of midfielders Gareth Williams, Lee Williamson and Will Hoskins, while defenders Clarke Carlisle (thigh) and James Chambers (ankle) played 90 minutes for the reserves in midweek but are not yet considered ready for first-team action.

Watford (from): Foster, Lee, Mariappa, Mackay, DeMerit, Stewart, Powell, Shittu, Doyley, Smith, Mahon, Francis, McNamee, Bangura, Bouazza, Cavalli, Rinaldi, Henderson, Priskin, Kabba, Ashikodi.
