CSKA Sofia club captain and Bulgarian International defender Valentin Iliev could be set for a move to Watford according to reports across the world wide web.

27-year old Iliev, who has been capped 11 times by his country and has Champions League experience, was reported to be joining the Hornets last summer but was refused the opportunity to go on trial by CSKA`s club president Alexander Tomov.

Since then the powerful defender has been touted across Europe with a host of teams such as Bundeslige side Energie Cottbus and French outfit Racing Club Strasbourg chasing his signature whilst Norwich City are ready to shell out £700k for his services.

Speaking to the Bulgarian press, Iliev insisted “the [trial] offer from Watford is still valid and will remain so until all transfer options are completely closed”.

Whether Valentin will sign on and win the hearts of Watford`s faithful is still to be seen.
