Well it was pretty inevitable in the end wasn’t it, Odion Ighalo has tonight completed his switch to Chinese side Changchun Yatai.

With Chinese Super League interest in him for a while and rejected offer of £36.5million previously, the 27 year old now makes the move after two and a half years at Vicarage Road and the media suggest the deal is in the region of £20million.

He leaves with 39 goals in 100 appearances, but with a poor Premier League campaign so far this year, 20 of those strikes did come as we won promotion from the Championship the other season and 17 last year where the Nigerian international’s stock really rose in the top flight.

At least now the speculation is over, this season wasn’t as hoped for but the part he played for the club won’t be forgotten.
