Having confirmed Watford had received offers for Odion Ighalo ahead of the Millwall defeat the Nigerian international looks set to leave.

West Brom previously showed interest in Ighalo but that soon cooled. However, when commenting ahead of our FA Cup defeat Walter Mazzarri was quoted by Sky Sports as saying.

‘I’ve just heard now that there is a very important offer that we are evaluating. I don’t like to say all the details but there is more than one offer. This one might also be from China.’

The arrivals of Mauro Zarate from Fiorentina and M’Baye Niang from AC Milan have further pushed Ighalo down Mazzarri’s thought process with the striker struggling for regular involvement this season anyway.

According to the Daily Mail Chinese club Changchun Yatai have made an offer for Ighalo. His agent has reportedly held talks with Hebei Fortune too with the 27 year old – who previously turned down interest from the Chinese Super League – keen to leave Vicarage Road.

With the goals certainly drying up this season and towards the end of the last – with Mazzarri adding to his attacking options – on the right deal Ighalo leaving Watford wouldn’t be a surprise or even the wrong decision in my mind.
