WATFORD THREW away a 2-1 lead thanks to an injury-time Robert Koren winner for the Tigers.

A close-range effort from Troy Deeney handed Watford the lead before Matty Fryatt equalised. Chris Iwelumo put the ‘Orns back in front with his first goal for the club before Aaron McLean levelled again. Deep in injury-time, Koren drove home to wrap up the points.

Following defeat at Leicester and injury to Michael Kightly, Sean Dyche made two changes to the starting 11. Mark Yeates and Marvin Sordell returned whilst Craig Forsyth and Lee Hodson were back amongst the substitutes.

Watford`s inability to hold onto the ball prevented them creating any serious chances in the first-half.

The game`s first real opportunity came just after the half an hour mark when Chris Iwelumo looped a header just wide.

The Hornets began to turn up the heat after that effort with Aidy Mariappa heading over before John Eustace saw his close-range finish ruled out for offside.

Five minutes before half-time the ‘Orns continued pressure did eventually pay off when Deeney opened the scoring. From a Yeates free-kick Deeney was able to finish from close-range.

Half-time: 0-1

The Tigers levelled shortly after half-time when Eustace was unable to clear a low cross, allowing Fryatt to convert with ease.

Sordell came close when he struck powerfully from distance but seconds later Iwelumo grabbed his first Hornet`s goal.

Following a Yeates cross Iwelumo headed home.

Unfortunately the Hornet`s lead didn`t last long and following Liam Rosenior`s centre, McLean was able to scrappily level for the hosts.

With a quarter of an hour to go, Yeates nearly bagged himself a goal as he drove forward before unleashing a powerful effort off the bar.

Deep in injury-time, City skipper Koren was given the freedom of the Hornet`s half to drive past Scott Loach from distance to wrap up the win.
