One drawback of the Pozzo family’s takeover will undoubtedly be the ridiculous transfer rumours born out of the family’s roots and as if to prove that point, Sky Sports News are this evening linking former AC Milan, Juventus and Italy forward Pippo Inzaghi with a free transfer to the Vic’.

The 38 year-old forward is also being linked with a free transfer move to former club Atalanta, where he spent a year between 1996 and 1997, scoring 24 goals in 33 games.

During 11 years with the Rossoneri, Inzaghi rammed in 126 goals in all competitions during 300 outings.

Inzaghi, who won 57 full caps for the Azzurri, left AC Milan at the end of his contract on June 30 and has since been heavily linked with a move to Atalanta by the Italian press.

However, today the rumours have taken a turn for the ridiculous with a potential move to WD18 allegedly in the pipeline.

Whether or not the foundations for that rumour are anything more than the nationality of our new manager and owners, remains to be seen!
