Watford will kick off their 2012/13 campaign at home to Wycombe Wanderers after they were drawn together in the Capital One Cup.
The Chairboys will visit Vicarage Road on the week commencing August 13.
A date for the fixture will be set in the near future, and a decision on whether or not to go ahead with the pre-agreed friendly will also be made.
Watford had been avoiding confirmation of their final pre-season clash, a trip to Shrewsbury on August 11 in case they drew the Shrews in the first round of the cup.
