Any win over Conference-bound Luton Town (-30) is well worth reporting here at VitalWatford and tonight`s 2-1 win for the Hornets reserves over our fiends from the Kennel is no exception?

Well, as if we really need an excuse to see the grumpy face of Mick Harford contorted as his local pride flies out of the window and half way down the M1.

So tonight goalscorers Lewis Young (brother of Aston Villa`s Ashley) and Marvin Sorvell temporarily join the legendary ranks of Peter Kennedy, Dai Thomas, Darius Henderson and Malky McKay, who all have, in recent times stuck it right up the hapless Hatters to claim local bragging rights.

And to matters a whole lot sweeter, the Hornets ressies did it with a bunch of Academy kids, still wet behind the ears and fresh from double maths whilst Luton (-30) rolled out the experienced heads of former Norwich winger Paul McVeigh, lower league journeyman Kevin Watson and lanky centre back Ian Roper!

Just a shame they didn`t cart in old legs of Brian Stein and Ricky Hill to help them out?

Still, it`s a local derby win (of sorts) and we`ll quick to spread the good news…

…faster in fact than the time it takes to scream “financial irregularities” from the rooftops.
