Watford`s teenage striker Liam Henderson has made a move back to his native north east after signing on loan with Hartlepool United for 3 months.

Hendo, who`s up and at em` style has been mostly overlooked by Watford boss Brendan Rodgers since making his debut, started his short but eventful career at the Monkey Hangers` Centre of Excellence before being poached away from Victoria Park by an offer from the Hornets.

But the League 1 outfit are pleased as punch to have Gateshead-born Hendo back in their ranks, with Director of Sport, Chris Turner stating “Liam comes highly recommended to us. He has done extremely well down at Watford and when the opportunity came for us to have a look at him, we quickly took it”.

The last time the bustling 19 year old year striker went out on loan it was all goals, goals, goals with non league Wealdstone the unlikely beneficiaries.

So, Brendan Rodgers fulfils his promise made live on BBC 3 Counties to review his striking options with an eye to bringing in new faces – now we await the news from Vicarage Road of any arrivals.

We just have to trust that Rodgers has something lined up as now we`re not only short of fight at the back but we`re short of passion up top as well.

Still, at least Smithy`s still about.
