Heidar Helguson will miss Watford’s trip to the Riverside after failing to recover from his calf injury.

The Icelandic legend has missed the past three games against Reading, Coventry and Cardiff. Despite an extra week to recover thanks to the international break the 32 year-old forward has been unable to recover in time from the injury sustained on his second debut at home to Leicester.

Despite the hi-tech oxygen chamber at ‘Champneys’ [whoever they are], Helguson’s torn calf has not heeled an it looks more likely he will feature at Ipswich on Tuesday night.

Gaffer big Malky will now have to look to possible replacements for the striker in the form of either Will Hoskins or Henri Lansbury. Nathan Ellington could also stake a claim to start alongside former ‘Boro Academy graduate and Hornets top scorer, Danny Graham.
