Heidar Helguson is set to sign for a team in Yellow. Sadly, the flying Icelander is to become a Canary on loan for the season.

With a lack of real Watford transfer news to report on deadline day, this will have to suffice.

The 31 year-old forward left Watford three years ago for Fulham where he spent two years before signing for Bolton but suffered injury early on and by the time he’d returned, Gary Megson was boss. Megson evidently wants shot of the former Lillestrom striker and has brough in Johan Elmander, Mustafa Riga and most recently, Ebi Smolarek in the striking department.

Charlton and Crystal Palace were both believe to be chasing the Icelandic cap too, but Norwich, with Arturo Lupoli and ex-Hornet protegee, Omar Koroma on-loan, ex-‘Orns boss Glenn Roeder is still keen to strengthen.

Meanwhile, former Hornet loanee, Collins John has returned to Holland on a free transfer after an injury-ravaged 18 months.

As yet, still no news of any new Golden Boys, but keep your browser tuned to VitalWatford for everything Yellow.
