Goalkeeper Rene Gilmartin has been made available for loan by Watford in order to build his match sharpness.

The Irish ‘keeper recently came into the side to make his Hornet’s league debut in the 2-1 win over Millwall.

However, the former Walsall man only lasted two games before Scott Loach re-claimed his spot against Crystal Palace.

Speaking to The Watford Observer, Sean Dyche said he would be looking to move Gilmartin out on-loan:

“We have had a chat about that and we were hoping to get him out on loan before he went in for Scott and we are still hoping to get him out on loan because he needs games.

“I thought if anything, he looked like he was feeling his way in and we have not got our time for that at the moment, we need to deliver straight away.’

It could be a case of one in, one out for the Hornet’s as Dyche has also confirmed to The Watford Observer that he was looking to add another forward player.

“The calls are ongoing and it is not just strikers, we are looking at other areas of the pitch because I am well aware, and the players are well aware, that we have not won as many games as we would like.’
