Watford will sign free agent Lewis McGugan, according to The Watford Observer.

McGugan, 24, left Forest on a free transfer yesterday after his contract with the Tricky Trees expired.

Forest were believed to be keen to retain the services of the central midfielder, but McGugan was keen to explore other opportunities and subsequently departed the City Ground after 206 league appearances.

The Watford Observer understand that the Hornets will beat several other Championship clubs to the signature of Nottingham-born McGugan, who scored a stunner against the ‘Orns two seasons ago.

Of those 206 appearances in the Championship, 107 were starts, with McGugan bagging an impressive 40 goals from midfield for Forest in that period.

As soon as there is official confirmation, Vital Watford will bring it to you.
