Head coach Quique Sanchez Flores and Allan Nyom have both been previewing the home clash against Everton this weekend.

Having opened up the Premier League campaign at Goodison Park eight months ago and taking a two all draw on the day, Flores was speaking to the media first in his pre game press conference and he was expecting a very different challenge in the return leg at Vicarage Road this Saturday.

Speaking to the Official Site he also spoke about how it was vital the side didn’t put in a performance like they did last weekend at Arsenal, if we wanted to take something from the game.

‘Nobody is happy in the club, in the squad, in the staff with our last performance, so we are looking forward for the ways we can change. It was a soft and light performance so we know perfectly well we need to change. We are thinking a lot about ourselves, and this is our idea. We respect Everton a lot, we respect the amazing players they have and the coach also, but we need to recuperate our way that we’ve played during the season, this is the most important thing. Now we are training our heads, our brains and our hearts more than anything tactical or physical, because I think all of these things depend on the spirit, and we are training that.’

Despite expecting the game to be different, he does know the squad can take confidence from the draw earlier in the season, as well as confidence from results and performances since then – despite the obvious hiccups along the way – and he’s hoping to see the side get back to a level of performance that they have come to expect from themselves.

‘This match is completely different to what we played in the first match of the league, because Everton lost the high expectation they have to go to Europe, and we were a new team in this moment and now everyone knows about Watford. It is a couple of good teams in the Premier League who have been very competitive during the season, and finally it’s a very important match for both teams.’

Ending his interview he also spoke about how it was important that Watford didn’t overly focus on Romelu Lukaku given his return of 25 goals so far this year, because Flores knows he’s not the only threat the side carry.

‘They have very key players, not just Lukaku. They have Barkley, they have Barry, they have very good wingers, and they have a lot of players who can change a match. The fans of Watford know perfectly that our plan is always a collective plan, not an individual plan. If we want to make sure Lukaku is not near the box we need to defend together and defend in the way we want.’

As for Nyom, in his own pre game interview he also spoke about how tricky a fixture it would be, and the need for Watford to be back to their best to take something from it.

‘I remember it was a hard game. It was my first game, we made a good job, but it`s going to be a different game. It will be harder than the first one, and we haven`t won for a while so we are trying to get three points. They lost their last game, so they come here to win, but we have to try and stop them and play better than them.’

He also called on the fans to continue their backing of the side, knowing how important they are to our chances.

‘They help us to win and to fight on the pitch, so they are very important.’
