Skipper and heartbeat of the Hornet’s midfield, John Eustace, may miss the Bank Holiday Monday clash with Scunthorpe due to a calf strain.

Manager Malky Mackay has confirmed that the skipper, who has missed just two league and cup clashes so far, looks likely to miss the Scunthorpe trip tomorrow.

The Hornet’s excellent fitnss team will assess the 31 year-old former Stoke enforcer on the day of the game before making a call on Eustace.

If the skipper does miss out on the Iron clash then it seems likely Ross Jenkins will come into the midfield for his first start of the season after playing the remaining 30 minutes of the 3-0 Pompey trouncing following Eustace’s removal.
