Forgot your United, Liverpool, Arsenal or even Chelsea global fanbases – Watford`s new defender Andrei Stepanov reckons he “was happy” to join Watford as they are “one of the leading supported clubs…in Estonia”.

And, despite saying he’s heard good things about the club, the 79-capped Estonian defender reckons the appeal is all down to Mart Poom, apparently.

The injured stopper might be the forgotten man in the Hertfordshire wilderness but Poom is big business in his homeland with Stepanov stressing “?everybody in Estonia knows that Mart Poom is playing for Watford, so Watford is very popular there”.

Now, here at VitalWatford we don`t for one second think that the backstreet flea markets of Tallinn are dominated by stalls selling knockoff replica shirts with “Doyley 12” nor that the street kids of Estonia`s 2nd biggest city, Partu, are dreaming of being the next Adrian Mariappa?

?but hey, it`s nice to feel wanted.
